A Bathing Ape Bape Sta 4

It’s a Saturday afternoon, you’re heading into the city, and you want your outfit to speak for you. For moments like these, there’s the A Bathing Ape Bape Sta 4, low sneakers from the brand that shaped Tokyo streetwear. With a clean white design, they easily pair with anything from jeans to wide cargo pants. A star with a lightning bolt shines on the side, making the Bape Sta instantly recognizable.

The upper is crafted from leather, which maintains its shape and gains a unique character with wear. The rubber outsole provides reliable traction on pavement and in the subway, while the low cut keeps your ankle free. The silhouette draws inspiration from classic 80s basketball sneakers, giving it a familiar vibe, but the star logo adds its own identity. Inside the box, you’ll find spare laces and a fabric pouch to stash your kicks while on the go. A Bathing Ape was founded in 1993 by designer Nigo in the Harajuku district of Tokyo. Camouflage patterns, the ape head, and the Bape Sta model are among the most collectible pieces that Japanese streetwear has offered to the world.

BAPE STA sneakers are known for their glossy patent leather, very bold color combinations and distinctive graphic elements. You'll often find the typical camo pattern on them as well .

Materials

UpperLeatherLeatherNatural leather is a traditional material resulting from the tanning process of animal hides and skins, which occupies a key position in the footwear and haberdashery industry due to its mechanical resistance, breathability and aesthetic value. The specific reticular structure of the collagen fibres allows the material to adapt to the user's anatomy, resulting in optimum wearing comfort. As a hygroscopic material, the leather naturally regulates moisture and ensures air circulation. The appearance and functional properties, such as the degree of water repellency or texture, are defined by the specific type of technological processing, which include smooth finishes, suede or nubuck.
SoleRubberRubberThe rubber sole is a traditional and highly reliable element in the construction of footwear, valued especially for its extreme mechanical resistance and grip. This contact layer is made of natural or synthetic rubber, which is characterized by its high density and elasticity. Due to its physical properties, it provides excellent traction on a wide range of surfaces, from smooth asphalt to unpaved terrain. In addition, the rubber is naturally waterproof and resistant to temperature fluctuations, ensuring stability and a secure stride in a variety of climatic conditions.
