Converse x Comme des Garcons PLAY Chuck 70 Hi

The Fusion of Classic and Avant-Garde - Converse x Comme des Garçons PLAY

In the realm of streetwear, few collaborations maintain cult status for as long as this one. The Converse x Comme des Garçons PLAY partnership represents the perfect synergy between relaxed urban culture and luxury fashion. At Footshop, we proudly bring you these premium sneakers featuring the iconic heart logo with eyes, which has become a global symbol of sophisticated taste, uniqueness, and stylish freedom.

The Story of Two Legendary Brands

• Converse: The American icon has been writing its history since 1908. Its legendary model Chuck Taylor All Star (1917) quickly transitioned from basketball courts to the heart of music subcultures, becoming an eternal symbol of rebellion, art, and independence.
• Comme des Garçons: Founded in 1969 by visionary Rei Kawakubo, this Japanese avant-garde house introduced the informal line PLAY in 2002, featuring the iconic heart logo designed by Polish graphic artist Filip Pągowski, redefining the modern approach to high-end streetwear.

Why Did This Unique Alliance Come About?

The brands came together in 2009 with a clear goal: to merge seemingly incompatible worlds. Converse offered its perfect minimalist canvas in the form of the premium Chuck 70 silhouette, while CDG added a touch of exclusivity, playfulness, and high fashion. This contrast created a timeless hybrid that successfully blurred the lines between luxury goods and everyday street style. The result is sneakers that will never go out of fashion.

Who Sets the Trend? Global Celebrities

This fashion phenomenon has instantly captivated global celebrities and trendsetters. The Converse x CDG PLAY sneakers are proudly showcased by icons like Rihanna, Drake, Kanye West, Kylie Jenner, and Alexa Chung. They demonstrate incredible versatility – perfectly pairing with casual jeans and a t-shirt, yet easily elevating a more formal outfit with a stylish blazer or coat.

Many of us love canvas Chuck Taylors for their vintage look. You're not likely to find a sneaker on the market with a longer history and stronger cultural roots than the Conversky. And it's not just for lovers of pieces from yesteryear that Converse decided to introduce the Chuck '70 collection. The latter differs from the classics at first glance with stitching on the side of the silhouette and a slightly yellowish sole with a black line, which is also slightly higher and beautifully accentuates the overall retro feel. But at the same time, you'll find a new breathable insole that will keep your foot comfortable even on a day trip.
