The all-black design, prominent outsole, and clean lines make the Challenger 8 GTX men's running shoes look just as good on gravel paths as they do on sidewalks. You can hit the trails or run in the rain, thanks to the GORE-TEX membrane that keeps you dry while allowing your foot to breathe. You'll feel the high cushioning from the first step, and at just 275 g, you’ll hardly notice you’re wearing them.
The upper is made from engineered mesh with Gore-Tex Invisible Fit technology, which allows the membrane to adhere to the outer layer, keeping the shoe sleek. The CMEVA foam midsole measures 44 mm under the heel and 37 mm under the toe. With a 7 mm drop and Early Stage Meta-Rocker geometry, it smoothly transitions you from landing to push-off. Neutral runners will appreciate this model, as it doesn’t require pronation correction. The Vibram outsole with a 4 mm deep tread provides grip on both trails and gravel. You can wear these shoes for daily training or light hiking, and they come in both regular and wide widths. The brand HOKA® was founded by runners in the French Alps who wanted to descend mountains faster. It’s still known for its highly cushioned outsoles.
