The story of the market leader in caps and sportswear began in 1920. A German immigrant and skilled craftsman named Ehrhardt Koch sensed an opportunity to redesign and change the fashion headwear industry. So he borrowed money from his sisters to get it started and started a company in New York called New Era Cap Co. Back then, baseball wasn't in such a heyday.
