The great Converse sneaker boom was helped by a man whose name is far from unknown today, at least to those who wear Converse. His name was Chuck Taylor. He was a basketball player who came into the store at the time saying that his sneakers were making his feet sore. Little did he know how much of an impact Converse shoes would have in the future. In fact, over time, he made a deal with the brand to become an ambassador. He was instrumental in modernizing the classic Converse high top silhouette, which was given the name of Taylor himself in 1932. Thus, the Converse Chuck Taylor sneaker was born.
A major change in production hit Converse shoes with the advent of World War II. The company began to orientits production towards the militaryinstead of the public . Converse sneakers were transformed into durable Converse sneakers for soldiers, and a range of other equipment including protective clothing was added to the range. After the war, production went back to normal and the traditional Converse capes were once again on their way to their happy customers.
Converse and basketball
It will come as a surprise to many Chuck Taylor fans that this was originally a shoe designed primarily for basketball players. And indeed, for a long time Conversky held its place as the most popular shoe of basketball players. Over time, the Chuck Taylor model has already been replaced on the playing field by its successors, but Converse shoes still enjoyed popularity. Even the legendary Michael Jordanwore them .
